Nzi Trapping Research Resources
This area of
Nzitrap.com contains technical information of interest to
entomological researchers familiar with publications on the Nzi trap. Minimal explanatory
details are provided. This page can be reached only through the
link at the bottom of the home page, or through the navigation bar
below. Information was assembled in 2007 and is mostly unpublished.
|
This page contains key data on fabrics and their
spectral characteristics, an entomological literature database, and a
compendium of raw data for historical trapping.
|
| The
Fabric Resources
page contains a detailed guide to many fabrics of interest to entomologists, a guide to
quality assurance, and several research tools.
|
| The
Meta--Analysis
page contains a database of trap performance statistics relative to a
phthalogen blue cotton Nzi trap.
|
| The RED
links below are password protected. They contain raw data and analyses on the performance of the Nzi and other
traps.

ACCESS - Fabric /
material descriptions, use the form FABRICMASTER to get the
characteristics of each item. Colour Indices and spectra are integrated
into this database only for a few entries; these can be calculated using the Colorimetry Calculator in
Fabric Resources.

EXCEL - Raw Nzi trapping data. This
is a compendium of standardized Nzi trap tests from African studies in the
1990s where Nzi traps in cotton and polyester were compared to other
biting fly traps for efficacy. |
Recent Trials

EXCEL - Raw Nzi trapping data for
additional experiments. This file contains three similar experiments
conducted in North America. |

information in REFLEX the 1990's. Use this file to understand the species and
other variable codes in the
